Battle is On! Halo 2 ODST is here!
Microsoft, as the publisher, and Bungie, as the developer, just recently launched its newest offering in the market, Halo 3: ODST. Released just last September 29, 2009, Halo 3: ODST has rapidly captured the interest of Halo fanatics and video game console enthusiasts.
A first person shooting scenario is the core of this video game. The protagonist of the game is among the many elite human soldiers that comprise the organization called the United Nations Space Command (UNSC).
The climax in the game takes place during an attack of an alliance of alien races to the Earth right after a Covenant took place. The area of New Mombasa served as the official specific target. Since they had to handle different quests, the members of the team got separated from one another. Thus, the player has to explore the area and look for his or her missing teammates.
Because they would often wrongly attribute the role of being the lead character in the Halo 3: ODST to the Master Chief, most individuals would often associate Halo 3: ODST to other versions of Halo that have been released earlier. However, contrary to such misconceptions, the Master Chief is not the lead character but it is the lone soldier from UNSC, also known as the Rookie, that plays the lead role.
Quick jumps and fast movement are advanced skills endowed by the Master Chief. Unfortunately, the Rookie does not possess these advanced skills. The energy shield that absorbs damages, considered as an asset weapon of the Master Chief, is substituted with a stamina mechanic for the Rookie.
The player needs to regain strength after incurring damages by getting adequate rest. A permanent harmful effect on the health may be caused if the damage exceeds the stamina threshold. The health of the player can be restored by utilizing medpacks that can be found in different locations all over the area. Thus, the player must look for these medpacks for health reasons.
